Madam, Sir,

I am currently a third-year student in Law and Political Science at Université Lumière Lyon 3 and wish to continue my studies by enrolling in the Master’s programme in International Law and International Relations.

My academic and professional background has equipped me with valuable skills for this path. Indeed, I am a persistent and dedicated student. After earning a vocational baccalaureate in Electronic and Digital Systems, I approached my initial years of Law studies with seriousness and rigor. Thanks to the “Cap vers la réussite” programme from the association Handi+, I gained confidence and successfully overcame a significant challenge. My university years have been a tremendous opportunity to explore passionate fields. Since then, I have developed a keen interest in international law and geopolitics, as evidenced by my undergraduate research project titled: “Europe at Different Speeds.” This addressed how the European Union preserves unity by implementing mechanisms that deepen integration, while accommodating the least inclined member states to delegate sovereign powers. Ultimately, I aspire to work in an international environment—such as diplomacy, security, or sustainable development—and the Master’s Year 1 in International Law and Relations at Université Lyon 3 seems to be an excellent foundation to discover the various domains related to international relations.

The Master’s programme at Lyon University aligns with both my intellectual interests and professional plans. I am particularly drawn to international law, economics, and history, and I am a keen reader of international press, including Courrier InternationalThe Times, and El País. Moreover, I appreciate that the first year, being more generalist, allows for honing one’s career goals by choosing one of six professional tracks, such as “Strategic Intelligence and Crisis Management.” Additionally, thanks to my previous academic background and internships at SNCF and the Adult Professional Training Association of Vénissieux, I have developed IT skills—particularly in information systems management—that are highly sought after. These competencies could be leveraged, for example, in international crisis management projects, benefiting public administrations or private organisations in which I will be involved.

I would be honoured to contribute my skills and eagerness to learn to your Master’s programme.

I hope that my application will receive your favourable consideration. Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
