[...] Under the "Grands Crus d'Alsace" appellation, extremely diverse wines are found, due to a great geological and climatic variety. This inherent geological complexity of the Alsatian region allows for the production of wines with very diverse personalities, with a great variety of aromas and intensity." [...] Challenges and difficulties Despite all these efforts to value the Alsatian terroir through the Grands Crus, we notice that these wines have some difficulties in being known internationally, facing the notoriety of Burgundy and Champagne wines whose prices and prestige can set records. In the face of increasing competition from other producing countries at the international level, it is essential for Alsace wines to stand out through a prestige image. [...]

The Alsatian Grands Crus embody the region's influence, its history and its heritage through prestigious products. Take the example of the Grand Cru Alsace Schoenenbourg from producer Marcel Deiss, marketed between 75 and 90 euros depending on the year. The bottle label, evoking the illuminations of medieval manuscripts, anchors the wine in a tradition and prestige linked to the reputation of the Schoenenbourg vineyard, which dates back to the Middle Ages.
