Walter Elias Disney, better known as Walt Disney, was born in Illinois to a building contractor and a teacher (Langer, 2000). After learning animation while working at Kansas City Film Ad Service, Walt began producing his own animated films.

Walt studied at the Chicago Institute of Art, later finding employment at the Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio (Langer, 2000). After learning animation while working at Kansas City Film Ad Service Walt began producing his own animated films. In 1922, he formed Laugh-O-Grahm Films and soon relocated to Los Angeles where he produced his first of many popular animated and live action series (Langer, 2000). [...]
