A course sequence in Terminal Bac Pro History exploring the evolution of the Fifth Republic and significant historical events in France from 1945 to 1975.

We began with a brief recap of the previous sessions and the themes covered, in order to refresh the students' memories and prepare them for the task at hand. I divided the class into small groups, dividing the remaining chapters: 'The Evolutions of the Fifth Republic', and 'The Thirty Glorious Years'. However, it was necessary to refocus the students' attention several times due to difficulties in concentration. The enthusiasm and involvement of the students varied from group to group, with some showing more seriousness and collaboration than others. Session Summative Evaluation During the summative evaluation, students must first identify and explain the period of the 'Thirty Glorious Years' by detailing its characteristics and defining its temporal limits. [...] The students then analyzed a a historical photograph of women voting for the first time in 1945. After an initial observation, we debated in groups the visual elements and the historical context. I guided the students to identify the key symbols such as the ballot and the voting booths, and we discussed the impact of this advancement on women's civil rights. The students then formulated questions for the Trivial Pursuit game, based on the photograph and historical context, followed by a collective correction that promoted understanding and exchange of ideas. [...] To make the session interactive, I introduced a game. I distributed sheets containing photos of the presidents of the Fifth Republic. The students, divided into small groups, had to identify each president, find their name, and number them in the chronological order of their mandates. After this activity, each group presented its answers, which we verified together by discussing any possible errors. Session The Thirty Glorious Years The fifth session began with an introduction where I presented the period of the Thirty Glorious Years, designating the thirty years of strong economic growth and social transformations that France experienced from 1945 to 1975.
