This document examines the issue of gender-based violence in Physical Education (PE), highlighting its definition, diagnosis, and findings from social sciences, as well as proposed solutions.

The concept of gender thus reminds us that the differences related to sex are not specifically linked to biology or nature, but rather that it is a matter of 'historically constructed and socially reproduced differences, through differentiated socialization and education of individuals' (ibid). In addition to this first definition, it is necessary to say that the term gender is commonly associated with the theory of gender, particularly put forward by American philosopher and feminist activist Judith Butler in the mid-1970s.
