His full name was Walter Elias Disney. He was born in Chicago in 1901 but was raised with his three brothers and his sister in Marceline, Missouri. He already loved drawing when he was seven. While he was studying at McKinley HighSchool he started to take night courses at the Chicago Art Institute. After few months in the Red Cross during the 2nd World War, he decided to focus on his artistic career. He formed his first company with the cartoonist Ub Iwerks and created the famous character of Mickey Mouse and then his brother, Roy Disney, joined him to make the company grow and develop his cartoons. After a long series of cartoons with the mouse and his friends, his career peaked in the 30's after the release of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" his first animated feature in English and Tecnicolor. Many famous movies followed, which we will discuss later. His final idea was to create a theme park. He oversaw the construction of the first one in California, but died of a lung cancer in 1966 just before the opening of the bigger one in Florida. He is now known as the best motion picture producer of the century
