In introducing this paper, the writer finds it prudent to say of the title question, that human resource management revolves around the administration of workforce in an organization. Here, the management of employees takes center stage in which their welfare is looked at in relation to the overall performance. As a matter of fact, it is the arch duty of any human resource department to evaluate and appraise the workers to ensure that both the employer and the employee flourish in a symbiotic environment.
Part one of this essay deals extensively with the criteria of recruitment. It is a protracted process that requires the concerted effort of both parties to come into a binding agreement. The human resource management also reserves the right to fire, so evaluating the issue of retention and retrenchments can hardly be avoided. A considerable degree of level-headedness is important when executing this role since if haphazardly done, the organization will register irredeemable losses.
Training of employees upon hiring and thereafter, is considered as a means of developing them and enhancing the productivity of the organization. Actually, it is a form of motivation which is considered as the greatest incentive that an employer can grant his/her workers. The intermittent trainings enhance efficiency and raise awareness about the nature of the business and how profit can be maximized. Finally, it tackles motivation per se, and how it improves productivity. Team building is mentioned as a method of boosting the morale of employees by facilitating bonding amongst them.
