The European Union's cohesion policies aim to reduce socio-economic inequalities and promote sustainable development across its territories, ensuring a common prosperity and harmonized development.

In fact, the deputy regrets that "Western European governments are backtracking on their promises" by limiting their limited contribution to the European budget (Document 1). This decrease may hinder the progress of regions in transition, which may suffer from the reduction of this aid, while cohesion policies had been rather beneficial until now for the homogeneity of situations within the European Union." In conclusion, the European Union has taken stock of the development gaps creating significant disparities between its different territories. In addition to cohesion mechanisms, it highlights the relevance of preparing these regions for tomorrow's priorities by providing them with a significant insight. [...]
