In January 2019, we counted 3,256 billion social media users, this number is continually growing, and shows us the important part of social media in our life. We must ask ourselves: Are they useful tools to use in our life, in our work, or should we fear them in order to protect our life?

As an example, during the last French presidential election, candidates had the opportunity to pitch their program on Snapchat. In addition, social media are sources of information which can be provided by "Influencers" a new job created by social media. They are paid to talk, and post about a new place, a product, a trend in order to earn money. They found their strengths in their followers and viewers. In addition, we assist to a new form of "cyberbullying" which can affect older people. For example "sextorsion" where someone extort money or else by blackmailing people usually from webcams. Moreover, another event exists which is revenge porn, where angry people published private video of their ex in previous sexual intercourse in order to humiliate them. [...]

That is to say that companies want to know everything about you, and they don't want to hire someone who posts drunk pictures of himself, or its political or religious opinion and so on? Then, social media can have a negative influence on your life regarding on what you post and what you show.
