The Internet is inconceivably huge. There are more than 50 million unique websites and somewhere between 30 and 60 billion unique web pages. For ages, people have been asking each other about books they might like to read. People rely on other people's opinions more than any advertisement. Social bookmarking is a relatively new technology that has changed the way people experience the web by allowing users to store, classify, rate, comment on and search links to any website or blog. Digg is the most popular social news site on the Internet and operates under a very simple methodology. Users can choose to view listings of popular articles and upcoming articles. Upcoming articles are new articles that have not received enough 'Diggs' to make it to the popular listing. Once something is submitted, other people see it and 'Digg' what they like best or 'Bury' articles they do not agree with. If the submission receives enough Diggs, it is promoted to the front page for millions of visitors to see within the list of 'Popular Articles'. Delicious is a social bookmarking website owned by Yahoo that can help users save, share and find online contents such as blog posts. It has more than 5 million users and 150 million bookmarked URLs and is one of the most popular social bookmarking services. Users of delicious.com are able to access favorite websites from the browser online from any computer. But having a website is pointless unless website has incoming traffic. Social bookmarking is one of the most effective ways to bring in targeted traffic quickly to each site.
