[...] In this context, I chose to start with a discovery phase aimed at raising awareness among learners about the profession of scuba diver through activities related to the vocabulary of materials and equipment in the kitchen. This is essential to expand the linguistic repertoire and to enable them to better understand the instructions in order to communicate more easily with their colleagues in the exercise of their function. Next, in a phase of systematization, it is necessary to fix the linguistic means, notably by watching a video of a concrete situation of the profession of scuba diver (manual washing of utensils), reading a text on safety standards or from an image illustrating the kitchens of a restaurant (hygiene and safety standards, activities 3 and 4). [...] Finally, in a phase of use, in order to reuse the sociocultural aspects and the linguistic elements learned, analyzed and systematized, the learners went to a social restaurant. It is a practical application anchored in a communication situation close to the real linguistic situation, as well as the professional skills to be acquired with all the requirements that follow. The pursued objective is to show the essential character of the scuba diver function in a restaurant. It concerns a whole series of tasks while requiring a close collaboration with colleagues. [...]
