Analysis of the meeting between Des Grieux and Manon Lescaut in Abbé Prévost's novel, set in the context of 18th-century Enlightenment literature.

The young knight has a genuine thunderbolt for Manon who will take advantage of his youth and inexperience to manipulate and use him later. It is interesting to ask how the meeting between Manon and Des Grieux is staged by the narrator. [...]
