Abstract
Nowadays, we notice a huge geographic extension of exchanges and increasing development concerning economic sectors. This phenomenon is called the globalization process and concerns developed and emergent countries. Even though lots of inequalities between a dominated South and a dominating North can be observed, the latter has recorded significant economic growth thanks to liberalization and foreign capital. India can be considered a new emerging country; Mumbai, also called the migrants' city, is a major Indian center. We shall attempt to answer the following question: "Can Mumbai claim the status of a global city?" In order to do so, we will show that Mumbai is a metropolis which intends to become an international hub. Subsequently, we will examine the underlying currents that dictate the life of this city.
