Lee, Kim, and Ham (2018) perfectly illustrate the complexity of the relationship between ESG criteria and airline profitability. They demonstrate that this relationship is moderated by variables such as the type of airline (here, the authors distinguish between low-cost and full-service airlines); they also show that performance is moderated by general economic conditions. On the other hand, what about the specific issues of the aviation sector such as carbon compensation and/or the impact of noise? References: Articles from journals classified in FNEGNE: Herremans, I.
