Like in the transatlantic countries, the year 1968 played a huge role in America's History. Sure enough at the same time France had to face the student discontent and important strikes took place in many countries and the Czech saw the entrance of the Warsaw Pact's tanks in Prague. What does 1968 mean for the Americans? What happened during this period? What was at stake that year for the future of the United States? 1968 got off to a bad start. On the 23rd of January, the nord-korean marine stopped the Pueblo, an American ship for spying. But it was from Vietnam that came the 'surprise'. On the 31st of January the Viet-cong triggered a 'Tet offensive' on the south-vietnam territory during the New Year's Day of it's lunar calendar, which is called the Têt fest.
