This placement is an excellent opportunity for me to gain practical experience and apply the theoretical knowledge I acquired during my studies. It has enabled me to discover the professional world, develop specialised skills with the support of the educational community, and gain a better understanding of how educational platforms work and why they are so successful. The experience also helped me to improve my language skills and to discover the realities of the job market.
[...] It also gave them a new perspective on characters who have left their mark on human history. In addition to this work, I helped translate Macmillan's spelling rules from English into Korean. This work enabled me to develop my technical translation skills. I learnt how to clearly explain concepts that are often perceived as dry, in order to help learners master the subtleties of spelling. As part of this translation project, I also took part in translating the texts of "180 days of reading and writing in Spanish" from English into Spanish. [...]
[...] For freelancers, regular meetings are organised, often via videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. At these meetings, managers, team members and freelancers discuss areas for improvement and exchange information on current projects. The fact that management takes the time to give personalised feedback shows that particular attention is paid to the personal development of each employee. Work supervision is non-intrusive. It encourages employee autonomy but allows rigorous monitoring to be maintained through regular checkpoints. This creates a working environment where everyone knows what is expected, while having the freedom to organise their own work. [...]

Our opinions are listened to and incorporated into the decision-making process, especially when it comes to the creative aspects of the work, such as translating books or teaching children. Employees generally work regular hours, from 9am to 6pm, with a lunch break. However, as Jinny & Toby is an online education platform, flexibility is also required to meet the needs of students and teachers in different time zones. [...]
