This article discusses the importance of fairness in exchanges between caregivers, patients, and families in palliative care situations, highlighting the complexity of care ethics.
[...] Indeed, the relationship between families and caregivers is often seen by families as insufficient insofar as communication, according to the authors, remains often parasited. In fact, medical ethics, which dictates that information must first be aimed at with the patient's consent, reinforces the complexity of the relationship and the caregiver's management in the case of a close relative. The authors, in this sense, recall that the lack of learning in the care system crystallizes an emotional experience that can sometimes be complex to manage. Hence, the denial of affects can be a strategy not to disrupt the caregiver-patient relationship. [...]
