[...] Conclusion The analyses of Porge and Sauret on the changes of contemporary subjectivity have been studied from Lacanian theories. In the first part of our study, we highlighted the theoretical foundations and the repercussions of contemporary evolutions on the appearance of new symptoms. The second part dealt with the criticisms of the authors, Porge and Sauret, towards classical explanations, while proposing new perspectives to apprehend and treat these symptoms. The works of Porge and Sauret shed light on the mutation of modern subjectivity by challenging classical notions and introducing new ideas that go beyond the teachings of Lacan. [...]

This paternal figure is traditionally a key element in the structuring of the psyche, representing an authority figure that facilitates access to the law and culture. However, Porge and Sauret note that, in the current context, this authority figure is increasingly contested and devalued. They refer to Lacan to illustrate this point: 'It is in 1938, in The Family Complexes, that Lacan writes: large number of psychological effects seem to be related to a social decline of the paternal imago.'
