This study examines the role of Social Service Assistants (ASS) in supporting parents of adolescents with mental health issues in their reintegration projects within a care-study clinic.
[...] To collect their perceptions of the support provided by the ASS and evaluate its impact on their ability to accompany the adolescents, I used the semi-directive interview method, in order to collect qualitative, rich and detailed data. The interviews were organized around specific interview grids designed for each group of participants: ASS working in clinics, adolescents with mental health issues and their parents. These grids were developed based on the specifics of each group. My analysis of the data revealed several major themes, with even more weight in my opinion, as highlighted by this cross-interview procedure. [...]
[...] Personally and professionally, this work has brought me a lot. It has allowed me to understand that it is important to work with a global approach in my future work: taking into account the needs of the person being accompanied, but also those of their entourage, favorise the exchanges of these families with all the medical and/or social professionals involved, for example. And progress in this care within the framework of regular intra- and inter-professional communication and collaboration, to understand the complexity of the situations experienced by these families. [...] This rigor allowed me to delve deeply into the essential elements while maintaining a coherent overall view. By adopting this approach, I hope to be able to provide significant support in the social reintegration process and the well-being of vulnerable adolescents in my future profession. Thank you for your attention and I am ready to answer your questions. [...]

Hello, my name is XX and I am in my final year of social work assistant studies. I would like to present to you the results of my reflection and research work on how ASS can support parents of adolescents suffering from mental health issues in their reintegration projects. I completed my last internship within a care-study clinic for 20 weeks and this allowed me to grasp the complexity of the ASS role in a context of conflictual relationships between parents and adolescents with mental health issues . [...]
[...] For example, I was surprised to find that parents of an adolescent suffering from mental health issues were not aware of certain devices, despite the many years of follow-up of their child. This observation allowed me to understand the importance of informing these families about all existing devices, in order to offer them support. From a methodological standpoint, this work taught me to articulate the different parts of my thesis and to synthesize the information. I had to make an effort to constantly refocus on my initial question, although I wanted to explore several aspects of this subject. [...]
