The Walt Disney Company was mainly created by Walter Elias Disney but it was also founded by his brother Roy.O. Disney. The Walt Disney Company was born in 1923. Let us look into the various facets behind the creation of this company. Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago in 1901. When he was a child he developed a love for drawing and as a consequence when he was studying at high school, he developed several cartoons for the school's newspaper called "The Voices". The First World War began when he was 13 and as years passed by, he was obsessed by the idea of winning it. At the age of 17, he worked as an ambulance driver in France. When the War ended, he came back to America where he looked for a job to begin an artistic carrier. He had always wanted to work in films, especially as a film director. He got his first job in the Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio where he created advertisements for newspapers and movie theatres. A little later he was hired by the Kansas City Film Ad Company where he worked on advertisement animations for small cinemas. During his free time, he started creating his own movies that he sold to the Newman theatre company. These movies were short and lasted only for about a minute but were appreciated as they were related to local problems and criticized the local power. In 1922, Walt Disney created a company called "Laugh-O-Grams Incorporation" where he produced short films based upon tales and children stories. They were quite successful but the company collapsed in 1923 because the incomes were not significant enough to cover the costs. After that failure, Walt Disney was invited by his brother Roy and they set up cartoon studio in Hollywood called the Disney Brothers Studio. We delve into the company and its growth through the years in this document.
