I think she doesn't have a trusting relationship with her husband, she also has a very negative attitude towards Rita and is very violent. Additionally, I don't like her dialogue in Spanish, although I understand that it forms part of her character as a Latina and American. [...]

In my opinion, one of the elements of the film that I liked the most was the scenario for its originality. The story is very original, because it deals with transsexuality and the process of sex change of Manitas de Monte; a man known for his virility and violence in the Mexican drug cartel. Additionally, I found it very interesting the way the story is told, with a musical comedy mixing suspense and emotion. [...]
[...] The man is the leader of one of the most dangerous cartels in Mexico. He wants to become a woman and evolves as a better and more involved human being to act in a positive way. She commits to an association to search for the disappeared due to criminal activities in Mexico. At a personal level, she falls in love with a woman and evolves by loving a person. However, we see in the movie the limits of evolving as a human being, because Emilia becomes very violent, like Manitas del Monte. [...]
