This document analyzes the effectiveness of Document 1's strategy in conveying the benefits of library attendance, highlighting its use of phatic, conative, and poetic functions to engage the reader and achieve its target audience's expected result. By comparing it with Document 2, the study reveals the differences in their implementation of these functions, with Document 1 excelling in the phatic function.
[...] Upon reading, it is easily noticeable that these documents promote library attendance through a cycling caravan. The cyclo-biblio aims to create a link between the very appreciated and increasingly valued cycling in France and library attendance. The cyclo-biblio is first the name of an association led by Lara Jovignot, which aims to revalue the attendance of libraries in our era where digital is taking over dangerously in practices. This illustration allows the reader to project themselves by already having a preview of the event. After analysis, the phatic function is better exploited on document 1 than in document because the phatic function of a text or a speech consists mainly of questions posed to the public/reader and a special formatting, in order to stimulate interaction and make communication more active. This allows the reader to make a decision during the reading. All this gives rise to an interaction between the reader and the author of the communication in order to push the majority to satisfy their curiosity during the event and then within the libraries.
