[...] Survival International is in close collaboration with major global organisations, first and foremost the United Nations. The NGO has observer status at the summits created by the United Nations and has access to the United Nations Department of Communication. In order to preserve a flawless independence and protect itself from any influence/conflict of interest, Survival refuses all government financial support. The NGO contributes to and has founded the signatory organisation of the Charter of Accountability (Charter of Accountability of International Non-Governmental Organisations). [...]
[...] The action of the Survival NGO is part of the long-term resolution of these issues. But what are the historical events that have precipitated this general awareness? First of all, the end of the ideological duel between the United States and the former USSR, which lasted for more than half a century (1945-1991). Historians have called this period the Cold War. It ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disintegration of the communist bloc. The direct consequence was the global expansion of the capitalist system, but above all, the beginning of the supremacy of the United States of America. [...]

The same finding is also applicable to Canada and New Zealand, as well as the United States and Australia. [...]

Survival International has offices in several major Western cities, including London, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, San Francisco, and Paris. The organisation specialises in campaigning for the collective rights of indigenous and tribal populations. More specifically, Survival International supports and accompanies the will of indigenous populations to preserve their ancestral lands, respect their customs. The NGO considers these populations as fragile and vulnerable on the social level. [...]

This subject gained momentum at the beginning of the 21st century as humans officially recognised their responsibility for the harm caused to the environment (fauna, flora, communities). This harm is the result of our daily actions and, above all, of economic activity and, more broadly, capitalism. It is not a question of calling into question the entire capitalist system, but rather certain negative effects that have a negative impact on nature and the living beings that inhabit it, including ourselves.
