[...] The context Lynxes were eliminated from the Vosges massif in the 17th and 18th centuries. The reintroduction efforts between 1983 and 1993 used 21 lynxes from zoos and captivity. Lynxes were released in four distinct areas of the Vosges massif over a period of 9 years and were tracked using telemetry. It is not exactly known how many lynxes were released gently or harshly.
