Barack Obama has been the source of a great deal of criticism while running for the US presidency. His ability to lead America as the next president has often been contested on a variety of subjects by his opponents. The main reasons used to criticize Obama by his opponent are his lack of experience as a politician, his young age (46 years old), his abstract political program that lacks details and the fact that he would not be "representative enough" considering the US population majority. Despite all this shadows on his candidature, he succeeds to move the crowds. His leadership and his conviction behind his words seem to be different than many other politicians, giving him the key of the power. In all the previous elections, it seems obvious that only "leadership" was a driving quality that all Americans were seeking for their president (Brookhiser, 2007). This notion can be defined as the following: "The first job of a leader is to define a vision for an organization; leadership is the capacity to translate a vision into reality."(Warren Bennis, President, University of Cincinnati, University of Maryland, symposium Jan 21ST 1988) We will see all along this paper why the criticism over Barack Obama's candidature has no influence and why we can say that his leadership does exist.
