This report is constructed as follows: the first part presents the gallery explaining its functioning and its philosophy in order to make my role in the organization easier to understand in the second part. The third part of the report analyses the problems I had to face, and what I learnt during my placement. To end this report, I analyzed the art education policy in the North West of England because this is the most recurrent aspect I noticed during my placement. The importance given to the arts in the education was surprising and I wanted to explain why it is so developed.

[...] The more they understand the Art, the more they appreciate it. My role was to meet the teachers to know what they need for each visit according to the expected number of children. I had to ensure that the materials and practical resources used are ordered, prepared and well-maintained, in order to meet the different needs. Usually, Drumcroon receives a school almost every day. Art workshops out in schools: These workshops are led by the same teachers but also by the artists-in-residence at Drumcroon. [...]
[...] Actually, the real difficulty was to learn the job quickly in order to find my place in this organization because working in a gallery was brand new for me. The best way to integrate a team is to be efficient and to be able to assist the different departments. To live a successful integration in the team, I have done my best to invest myself in my job from the first day to the last one. One of the obvious difficulties met during a stay abroad is the language barrier. [...]
[...] I arrived at Drumcroon with a liking for the art, and left the gallery four months later with a passion for painting. That's why it has not only been a positive work experience. It has been a successful personal experience because I discovered new aspects of my personality. In a general way, I have been satisfied with the missions I have been entrusted with. The content of my training had been defined with my manager before I start, and it was matching what I expected. I was interested in my job and I felt like being useful in the team. [...]
[...] In England, Art and culture are placed at the heart of national life, and are organized in a wide network to provide services to children and young people in particular. England offers a wealth of artistic and creative opportunities. The arts are thought to have an important role to play in children and young people's well-being, providing opportunities for enjoyment and achievement as well as developing positive life skills. In this context, the arts can offer freedom of expression, experiences which build confidence and promote self-esteem, attractive career opportunities? [...]
