"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page", wrote Saint Augustine. From this quotation, we understand that traveling today is a way of discovering new cultures, languages, values etc. This is what largely prompted me to intern in a travel agency. So, when a travel agency located in Newport Beach asked me if I wanted to complete a project related to the Luxury Network, I jumped at the chance to work with the best worldwide network in the hospitality and catering field. My project was to compile a book covering the best pools, bathtubs and showers available in the Virtuoso hotels.
The CEO tasked me with lots of responsibilities concerning this project including handling the public relationship campaign of the company. I had access to the David Travels address book and I had to promote my project via various means of communication such as Twitter and Facebook.
Building a project from scratch and then promoting it has afforded me a major opportunity. In this document, I will initially describe the travel agency and the current market scenario for travel agencies following which, I shall deal with my responsibilities as public relationship manager. In fact, this internship has been a huge opportunity and has brought me numerous benefits.
