[...] Evaluation of theses Among the main theses developed in Cosmopolitan Conceptions, the conceptualization of infertility as an "invisible disability" is particularly striking. Marcia Inhorn sheds light on the emotional and social pain of infertile women, often stigmatized in contexts where motherhood is considered a fundamental norm. By describing infertility as a state of suffering unrecognized by social or institutional structures, the author demonstrates that these women are marginalized in their quest for procreation. This marginalization is exacerbated by gendered expectations, which place the responsibility for reproduction primarily on women. [...]
