Marcia Inhorn sheds light on the emotional and social pain of infertile women, often stigmatized in contexts where motherhood is considered a fundamental norm. By describing infertility as a state of suffering unrecognized by social or institutional structures, the author demonstrates that these women are marginalized in their quest for procreation.
