Canada's prison system is broken, with "houses of hate" scattered throughout the country. The main goal of the Canadian prison system is to secure staff and inmates and provide an environment where offenders can be fully rehabilitated to increase the security and safety of society (Arcuri, 2021). Canada's prison system, designed to rehabilitate and reform inmates, is failing at its core mission. In this essay we will discuss how Justin Ling illustrates the many problems in the Canadian prison system.
