A one year internship in a foreign country represents a key phase in the frame of our studies. Though this internship takes place during the third year of our studies and not during the last year, it marks the transition between student life and professional life; between theory and practice. For my internship, I sent applications to several companies which I had selected. I didn't want to do it my internship in an English speaking country, because I wanted to discover a new culture, different from Anglo-Saxon culture. I thus rejected offers for placements opportunities in the UK and focused on multinational companies in Europe, because their internal language at work is English. Hence, when I got the opportunity to do my Internship in with Ineo, located in Warsaw, the capital of Poland which is the leading country of the Eastern Europe, I did not hesitate. I knew that I would have to speak English at work and when I learnt about the project Zote Tarasy which was looking like a big and interesting project I decided to go to Poland. I also knew that this would be the chance for me to integrate into the Polish environment. Moreover, I really wanted to work in the construction sector. This is a very specific sector, with a unique way of working. Everything is organized by projects; deadlines are defined well in advance and one must find a way to respect them. At the same time, it is also necessary to be able to manage urgent matters that come from the Client in the course of daily activities. These two sides of project management, which require managers to deal with long term deadlines and urgent matters at the same time, is a very interesting aspect of construction companies.
