Abstract
The legalization of euthanasia is a burning issue. The case of Vincent Humbert, in France, who asked to die with dignity spurred a controversy and divided the French society. Thus, two camps were opposed on the subject of euthanasia: those who were in favor of its legalization, and those who were against it. After having reminded us of some figures extracted form a survey concerning the legalization of euthanasia which shows that people (above all the elders) are not in favor of it, opponents of the legalization of euthanasia argued that taking someone's life is a very serious matter, so the legalization of euthanasia should not be voted.
