The photo illustrates an article entitled 'Salem is a Wicked Good Destination for Art Lovers' by Sarah Shemku, published in Northshore Magazine on 23 April 2024. The photo depicts a mural on a brick-coloured building, showing a very colourful hummingbird and brightly coloured geometric and abstract patterns. The second document is a night-time photograph of Salem's most visited museum. The photo comes from the Wikimedia.org website. It shows the wall of a stone building that looks like a church. [...]
[...] In the background, the dark blue-grey sky indicates that the photo was taken at night. A gaunt tree can be seen in the top right-hand corner of the photo. The scene conveys an eerie and frightening feeling. But this impression is counterbalanced by the presence of Christmas decorations. Moreover, the pink light, which is unusual, provides a strange contrast, making the scene less dramatic and makes the church look like a theme park building. These two documents are reminiscent of the graffiti 'together, we create', which shows that street art occupies old walls and buildings. [...]
