The American newspaper International Herald Tribune (Edition from Saturday and Sunday 17-18 November) decided to do its front page about the strike in France. That shows the importance of the strike and its paralyzed effects on the economy and on the well-being of the users. But that demonstrate as well a phenomenon of misunderstood for others countries. How cannot the national transportation work?
But this misunderstood comes from a cultural difference. In France, when employees are doing a strike they are protected, they cannot be fired. It is recognized as a right. The impact of the history on our society is strong and this heritage helps to understand the situation during a strike. The French Revolution from 1789 put in place a lot of rights in the goal of protection of people against "Bourgeoisie" and "Aristocrats". So people were able to show their dissension against the Power in place.
