The essay aims to study the following case:
"GH is a 42-year-old male who studied law at University and graduated twenty years ago. He originally had ambitions of becoming a barrister after graduation; however, shortly after he completed his studies, his mother passed away and this did not happen. GH started working in the family restaurant to support his father, alongside his younger sister as Head Waiter. He regrets not pursuing his dream career. GH frequently thinks of himself as a failure and that he has not lived up to his expectations of himself."

However, non-medical interventions and therapeutic approaches have shown more positive outcomes (see (Effectiveness of non-medical health worker-led counselling on psychological distress: a randomized controlled trial in rural Nepal); Mackler, 2014). Strengths to highlight from this approach is the possibility to help GH gain control of his thoughts, beliefs and emotions. As compared to CBT, this approach equips him in facing difficult situations without reacting irrationally.
