The Paris 2024 Olympic Games generated significant direct and indirect economic impacts on the French economy, with an estimated total economic impact of EUR1.55 billion in the tourism sector and between EUR7 and EUR11 billion in the Île-de-France region from 2018 to 2034.

[...] The economic impact of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games manifests itself through several dimensions. We have presented the sources of funding for the event, we were able to distinguish the investments and the jobs generated by the construction of the infrastructure (stadiums, Athletes' Village, Media Cluster), as well as the tourist spin-offs. Through the creation of jobs and the influx of visitors, the benefits have been significant for hoteliers, restaurants, and merchants, who have seen their sales increase. [...]
[...] The social and sporting spin-offs One of the main challenges of the 2024 Olympic Games was to incorporate social inclusion practices, so that this event could benefit everyone. In fact, France wanted to use the Games as a lever for social development and community integration. As we have seen through the creation of jobs, but not only. To make sports more accessible, inclusive, and social, the country has set up a financial aid, the Pass Sport, which is intended for eligible young people and allows them to cover their registration fees in a sports association, a club, or a sports hall. Finally, thanks to the devices put in place by SOLIDEO, nearly 4,000 people in insertion were able to access employment, highlighting the sustainable social impact of the Games in terms of inclusion and valorization of national know-how. B. The revenues generated by visitors and spectators In terms of the tourism sector, the total economic impact of the Paris 2024 JOP is estimated at ?1.55 billion. [...]
[...] Thus, we analyze the economic impacts of this major event and for this, we present in a first part the direct impacts of the Games on the French economy, in order to then focus on the indirect economic impacts or long-term impacts, including the complementary dimensions of the Olympic Games in terms of social and sporting repercussions.
