Located on the KU campus, 145 Strong Hall, in the Multicultural building, the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) has the main function of enhancing the educational opportunities of students. A certain interest is shown towards the African American, Asian American, Hispanic American and Native American students. It is an Organization for students of all minorities in the US. The OMA's motto is, 'We are one community'. This means they strive to create relationships between students of different cultures by providing an atmosphere which helps students succeed academically. In order to develop this relationship, appreciation of other cultures is encouraged. The OMA has also the special function of trying to keep students from dropping out of college. In the US, different minorities live together and try to co-exist, and we feel this organization is a proof of this diversity. This report is about trying to understand the role that the Office plays at KU, and if it is a benefit for all the students, whatever minority they belong to. This is what we explain through our research.
