Enterprises are nowadays looking for an efficient strategy model which will allows them to expand their market share and of course, offer better returns on investments. Web marketing is an important avenue of marketing products and services. It includes email marketing, chats, Banner Ads, search engine optimization, newsletters, affiliate marketing, and web viral marketing. It is a key enhancer of direct marketing or agent-based marketing. Since the internet is an instantaneous medium, the interacting consumers expect from as much as from real customer representatives over the telephone, and sometimes more. The strategic role of information systems involves using information technology to develop products, services, and capabilities that give a company strategic advantage over the competitive forces it faces in the global marketplace. Information technology can be used to implement a variety of competitive strategies. Customers may be able to cut cost and adapt a low costs leadership strategy. They can also increase quality and service by choosing a product or service differentiation strategy. Business process reengineering can also improve operation efficiency.
