Based on a video of the scene "The Protest" in The Handmaid's Tale, the task is to write a text containing narration and dialogue that corresponds to the riot scene.
[...] The two women take refuge in an empty café while the crowd outside continues to escape the gunfire. One man is shot several times and collapses. 'Come and hide over here, it's safer,' said June to Moira. - Be careful, the shots are getting closer. - We have to bend down." The two women hide behind the counter. They look afraid and desperate because they don't know what will become of them. Suddenly a loud explosion blows out the café window. June and Moira try to protect themselves. [...]
[...] Suddenly, the police start shooting at the crowd. No one has time to figure out what is happening. In the panic, some people fall to the ground, dead or injured. "Be careful, run away " someone shouts. Many shots and explosions are fired from all sides as the demonstrators try to flee. They seem to be trapped. Terror and panic are on both their faces. Police brutality is indescribable. June and Moira flee, holding hands to avoid getting lost. It's an apocalyptic scene. [...]

There are men and women, old and young, holding up signs. Anger and determination are on their face. Among them June Osborne (who is Defred is the present) and her friend Moira. The tension is palpable. People are shouting: - "Give us back our rights and freedoms No to the new laws " - No to martial law - Enough is enough - More justice " The demonstrators shout louder and louder, provoking the police.
