Interactions with people from different cultures present a special challenge for an international manager, since there is potential for distortion or misunderstanding in these interactions. The challenge is to correctly interpret the meaning of a person from a different culture. This study focuses on the kinds of multicultural issues that arised when French decided to work in Japan with the cultural experience of an expatriate. Her name is Ms Francini-Melchior. She's 54 years old and she works as headmistress of Henri Tomasi School. She had begun working in 1973 and after five years she decided to go to Japan for knowing the French School system and discovering a new country. The main idea that Ms Francini-Melchior underlines in this interview is the gap between Japanese culture and French Culture that she qualifies as opposite.
