This report examines the current situation regarding the issue of transport in Cambridge. The report will point out the actual problems faced, and the solutions proposed by the Council. The transport includes the private and the public transport. Some research will be carried out in order to understand the situation. The aim of this report is also to propose some recommendations for the county Council. On Tuesday, 23 November 2004, the Council, represented by Sylvia Griffiths, has been asked by the city of Cambridge, to carry out an investigation and analyse, the current situation of the issue of transport in Cambridge. This report aims to analyse the current situation of transport and observe what solutions have been proposed. This report will be based, first of all, on an analysis of the different types of transport, and the current problems faced. Secondly, this report will focus on the solution proposed by the county Council as the 'TLP, 'Transport Local Plan' which aims at improving this situation. We will also present one of the key projects, which is the 'Guided Bus Scheme'. This project has created lots of discord in politics and some discussion among the people. The Council has been asked to handle this report on Tuesday, the 7th of December, which you will find at the end of this report.
