This presentation deals with the recent French riots that occurred during October and November 2005. These French riots began on October 27 in a Paris suburb and then spread nationwide. We have chosen three articles from the television address of November 8, about the Prime Minister of France, Dominique De Villepin. These three articles have stemmed from the Guardian, the Irish Times, and the Washington Post respectively, the England, Irish and North American national daily papers. To begin, we will briefly describe the content of the three articles, and then, the similarities and the dissimilarities of these articles will be thoroughly analyzed.
