Despite the wide spectrum of theories on the subject, we can say with certainty that the media play a crucial role in contemporary society and its social processes. They do not merely play the role of informing the audiences. Besides the denotative function, they play a connotative role with emotive and emotional aspects and also have a more complex and symbolic role. The information is never an end in itself, but is accompanied by a vision of the world pre-determined by the same media. This means that the media influence and distort the representation of social reality in terms of its symbolic role of mediation. Communications expert Engel Lang said: "The news organizations are more than mere transmitters of messages of "reality ". Their role as producers, even creators of news is of equal importance. However, the intentionally distorted the image of the world is increasingly defined by some kind of perspective, and focuses on various angles depending on the lenses of the cameras. This document will analyze the need to investigate the responsibility for the information in the reproduction of racist prejudices in society.
