General Motors Corp. was founded in 1908 in Flint, Michigan. Today it's the world's largest automaker. The company has also been regarded as the sales leader at the global industrial level for 76 years. Due to GM's embarkment into continuous acquisitions and the firm concentrating on enlarging itself for several years, GM has surpassed Ford in the 1920s. In the subsequent years, General Motors tried to diversify its investments, especially by investing in the bus and the railway market. During the Second World War, General Motors contributed immensely by producing vast quantities of armaments, vehicles and aircrafts. After the war, GM was regarded as the largest corporation that was registered in the United States. Its rank as the largest corporation was attained due to its revenues as a percentage of the Gross Domestic Production (GDP). Finally, on the 31st of December 1955, GM emerged as the first American corporation to deliver a turnover of over one million dollars in a year.
